GEENBALOPDETV
This was a sideproject I started in 2010. It began when I decided to get rid of my tv, since television is only giving us horrible tv shows such as ‘oh oh Cherso’ and so on. There are way more interesting and fun things to do when you get out of the house.
I know that there are a lot of cheap but amazing cultural, fun things organized in Amsterdam. Such as exhibitions, lectures, movie nights outdoor & indoor. So I searched the internet and I started telling my friends about these events and inviting them.
They were enthousiatic about a lot of events and always ask me where I get this information from. And of course they want me to notice them when I found a nice event again. So I decided to set up a Facebook page and a Twitter page which is called GEENBALOPDETV. (Trans. : nothing on the tv).
I posted on a weekly base events in the area of Amsterdam, all events were either free or charged less than 10 euro. From entertaining such as movie nights, small scale festivals to theater, exhibitions and lectures. I posted for about a year but decided in September 2011 tot quit because I moved to Eindhoven. I might continue if I move back to Amsterdam one day.
